WordPress 3.0 Demystified – Part 3
Part III: Whatta’ Widget!
Now that you’ve successfully installed WordPress and a theme, you’ve probably started to have one of those obsessive thoughts like, “Dang, I wish my theme had another column,” or “It would be even better if I could change the color of that sidebar.” Well, today you will make some adjustments to the theme by changing colors and fonts.
Next up will be adding widgets (short for window gadget). The most common widgets are buttons, drop-down lists, search fields, etc. These are items that may or may not already come with your theme, so go add a few to get a feel for how they work and which ones are best for your particular site.
Please do NOT over widget your page. It’s not meant to be a circus performance
